منح الصحفية الفلبينية، ماريا ريسا، جائزة اليونسكو/ غيليرمو كانو العالمية لحرية الصحافة لعام 2021

اختيرت الصحفية الاستقصائية والرئيسة التنفيذية لوسيلة إعلامية، ماريا ريسا، من الفلبين للحصول على جائزة اليونسكو/ غيليرمو كانو العالمية لحرية الصحافة لعام 2021، بناءً على توصية لجنة تحكيم دولية مؤلفة من مهنيين في المجال الإعلامي. وسيقام حفل تسليم الجائزة في 2 أيار/مايو في ويندهوك بناميبيا، بمناسبة المؤتمر الدولي الخاص باليوم العالمي لحرية الصحافة، وسيبثّ الحفل على الإنترنت.
وقد تولّت ماريا ريسا عدة مهام خلال أكثر من ثلاثين عاماً من حياتها المهنية، حيث عملت كمراسلة صحفية استقصائية رئيسية لآسيا في قناة “CNN”، وكرئيسة للأخبار والشؤون الجارية في مؤسسة “ABS-CBN”. كما انخرطت في عدة مبادرات دولية تعمل على تعزيز حرية الصحافة. وتعرضت في السنوات الأخيرة لاعتداءات على شبكة الإنترنت ورُفعت بحقها دعاوى قضائية بسبب تقاريرها الاستقصائية ووضعها كمديرة للموقع الإخباري الإلكتروني “رابلر”. وقد أوقفت بسبب جرائم مزعومة تتعلق بممارستها لمهنتها، وتعرضت لحملة متواصلة على شبكة الإنترنت من الإساءة الجنسانية والتهديدات والمضايقات، وصلت إلى حد تلقيها وسطياً أكثر من 90 رسالة كراهية في الساعة عبر منصة فيسبوك..(World Press Freedom Day)
Filipino journalist Maria Risa awarded the UNESCO / Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2021

Investigative journalist and media CEO, Maria Risa, from the Philippines has been selected for the 2021 UNESCO / Guillermo مردودة World Press Freedom Prize, based on the recommendation of an international jury made up of media professionals. The award ceremony will take place on May 2 in Windhoek, Namibia, on the occasion of the International Conference on World Press Freedom Day, and the ceremony will be broadcast online.
Maria Risa has held several assignments over the course of more than thirty years of her career, working as a lead investigative reporter for Asia at CNN, and as head of news and current affairs at ABS-CBN. It has also been involved in several international initiatives that work to promote freedom of the press. In recent years, she has been subjected to attacks on the Internet and lawsuits have been filed against her because of her investigative reports and her position as director of the news website “Rappler”. She was arrested due to alleged crimes related to her practicing her profession, and she was subjected to a continuous online campaign of gender-based abuse, threats and harassment, amounting to an average of more than 90 hate messages per hour on the Facebook platform ..
