تقديرا للوالدين في جميع أنحاء العالم
أصبح دور الأسرة الهام موضع اهتمام المجتمع الدولي منذ ثمانينيات القرن الماضي وبشكل متزايد الى يومنا هذا. واتخذت الجمعية العامة عددا من القرارات الداعمة للأسرة، وأعلنت إطلاق السنة الدولية للأسرة والاحتفال باليوم الدولي للأسرة، للتأكيد على الدور الحاسم للوالدين في تربية الأطفال. ولم تزل الأسرة هي المسؤول الرئيس عن رعاية الأطفال وحمايتهم. ولكي يكبر الأطفال صحيا متكاملين – يتناغم فيهم نموهم مع شخصياتهم – فإن من اللازم أن ينشئوا في بيئة أسرية ومحيط من السعادة والمحبة والتفاهم. والوالدين، في كل أنحاء العالم، هما الراعيان والمعلمان الأساسيان لأولادهما، بحيث يعدانهم لحياة منتجة ومرضية وسعيدة.
والوالدين هما ركنا الأسرة وأساسا مجتمعهما والمجتمع ككل. ويثمن اليوم العالمي للوالدين، الذي عينته الجمعية العامة في عام 2012، الوالدين تثمينا عاليا لتفانيهما في التزامهما بأبنائهما والتضحيات التي يقدمانها مدى الحياة نحو تعزيز هذه العلاقة.
توفير دعم أكبر للوالدين – خصوصا العاملين منهم، مع انتشار وباء كوفيد-19
تتحمل الأسر العبء الأكبر لوباء كوفيد-19. ويتحمل الوالدان، بصفتهما المرتكزين للأسرة، مسؤولية حماية أسرهم من الأذى، ورعاية الأطفال خارج المدرسة، ومواصلة مسؤوليات عملهم وفي نفس الوقت. وبدون توفير الدعم للوالدين، فإن صحة الأطفال وتعليمهم ورفاههم العاطفي معرض للخطر. وينظر الى الدفع بممارسات متناغمة مع مصلحة الولدين في مكان العمل كفرصة لوضع الشركات والمؤسسات في وضع يساهم في تعزيز سلامة الأطفال ورفاههم وتقديم الدعم المنهجي للوالدين من الموظفين. وبينما تواصل جائحة كوفيد-19 الاجتياح الهائل لمجتمعاتنا، ستظهر مذكرة صادرة عن اليونيسف ومنظمة العمل الدولية وهيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة بشأن السياسات الصديقة للأسرة والممارسات الجيدة الأخرى في مكان العمل في سياق كوفيد-19، أنه من الضروري دعم الأسر العاملة لتقليل الآثار السلبية والعواقب على الأطفال

A tribute to parents all over the world
The important role of the family has been of interest to the international community since the 1980s and increasingly to the present day. The General Assembly took a number of decisions in support of the family, and announced the launch of the International Year of the Family and the celebration of the International Day of the Family, to emphasize the crucial role of parents in raising children. The family continues to be the primary responsibility for the care and protection of children. In order for children to grow up healthy and complete – their development harmonizes with their personalities – it is necessary for them to grow up in a family environment and an environment of happiness, love and understanding. Parents, all over the world, are the primary caregivers and educators of their children, preparing them for a productive, satisfying and happy life.
Parents are the pillars of the family and the foundation for their society and society as a whole. International Parents’ Day, designated by the General Assembly in 2012, highly values parents for their dedication to their children and the lifelong sacrifices they make towards strengthening this relationship.
Provide more support for parents – especially those working among them, with the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic
Families bear the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the focus of the family, parents have a responsibility to protect their families from harm, to take care of children out of school, and to continue their work responsibilities at the same time. Without parent support, children’s health, education, and emotional well-being are at risk. The push for child-friendly practices in the workplace is seen as an opportunity to place companies and organizations in a position that contributes to enhancing the safety and well-being of children and providing systematic support to employee parents. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to sweep through massively our societies, a note issued by UNICEF, the International Labor Organization and UN Women on family-friendly policies and other good practices in the workplace in the context of COVID-19 will show that it is imperative to support working families to reduce the negative impacts and consequences on children.
