أعلنت المجموعة العربية في الأمم المتحدة أن الجمعية العامة ستعقد اجتماعا طارئا يوم الخميس، وذلك لبحث الأوضاع في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، في ضوء فشل مجلس الأمن في صياغة موقف توافقي، بحسب رئيس المجموعة العربية.
ففي إحاطة للصحفيين من المقرّ الدائم للأمم المتحدة بنيويورك يوم الثلاثاء، قال مندوب الجزائر الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة، سفيان ميموني، والذي ترأس بلاده المجموعة العربية لهذا الشهر، إنه “أخذا في الاعتبار بأن مجلس الأمن لم يقدر حتى الآن اعتماد وثيقة مخرجات، وصياغة موقف توافقي بشأن القمع الذي يواجهه الفلسطينيون في الأرض المحتلة، قررت المجموعة العربية الدعوة إلى اجتماع طارئ للجمعية العامة”، قائلا إنه قدم هو ورئيس منظمة التعاون الإسلامي رسالة إلى رئيس الجمعية العامة بهذا الخصوص.
من جانبه، قال المراقب الدائم لدولة فلسطين لدى الأمم المتحدة، رياض منصور، إن الفلسطينيين بحاجة فورية إلى “إرادة سياسية لوقف هذا الاعتداء على شعبنا”. وأشار إلى أن 213 فلسطينيا قتلوا في غزة بينهم 61 طفلا و36 سيدة و16 مسنا، وأكثر من 30 فلسطينيا في القدس والضفة الغربية المحتلة، ونحو 4,000 إصابة بجراح، إضافة إلى تعرض 7,000 مبنى في غزة إما للأضرار أو التدمير بالكامل.
وأضاف يقول: “ضعوا أنفسكم مكان الشعب الفلسطيني إذا كانت دولتكم محتلة وإذا صودرت أرضكم وإذا أقيمت مستوطنات غير شرعية وإذا كان أشخاص يعيشون في منازلهم مثل حي الشيخ جراح ويتعرضون للتهديد بالطرد من بيوتهم.. ماذا يجب أن يفعل الشعب الفلسطيني؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟

The Arab Group at the United Nations announced that the General Assembly will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday, to discuss the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in light of the failure of the Security Council to formulate a consensual position, according to the head of the Arab group.
In a briefing to journalists from the permanent headquarters of the United Nations in New York on Tuesday, Algeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Sofiane Mimouni, whose country heads the Arab Group for this month, said that he “has taken into account that the Security Council has not yet been able to adopt an output document and formulate a consensus position. Concerning the oppression faced by the Palestinians in the occupied land, the Arab group decided to call an emergency meeting of the General Assembly, “saying that he and the President of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation submitted a letter to the President of the General Assembly in this regard.
For his part, the permanent observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, said that the Palestinians are in immediate need of “political will to stop this attack on our people.” He pointed out that 213 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, including 61 children, 36 women and 16 elderly, and more than 30 Palestinians in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank, and about 4,000 were injured, in addition to 7,000 buildings in Gaza being either damaged or completely destroyed.
