خبراء حقوقيون يطالبون بتحقيق محايد وشفاف في وفاة الناشط الفلسطيني نزار بنات

قال خبراء حقوقيون* مستقلون إن وفاة الناشط الفلسطيني نزار بنات بعد وقت قصير من اعتقاله على يد قوات الأمن الفلسطينية “فيها كل مقومات الفعل الإجرامي”. ودعا الخبراء إلى التحقيق المحايد والشفاف.
وقد توفي نزار بنات وهو في قبضة قوات الأمن الفلسطينية في 24 حزيران/يونيو – وهو ناشط ومعارض معروف بتعليقاته على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي المنتقدة لشخصيات في الحياة السياسية الفلسطينية – وأشارت التقارير الأولية إلى تعرّضه للضرب المبرح بهراوات فولاذية أثناء اعتقاله من منزله.
وفي بيان صدر يوم الثلاثاء، قال الخبراء: “يجب التحقيق في وفاته بطريقة محايدة وشفافة حقا، وبطريقة تمتثل لبروتوكول مينيسوتا بشأن التحقيق في حالات الوفاة المحتملة غير القانونية. وإذا بيّن التحقيق أن وفاته كانت جريمة قتل، يجب محاسبة المسؤولين عنها بالكامل، بصرف النظر عن الرتبة أو القيادة، ويجب منح تعويضات كاملة لعائلة السيد بنات.”
ودعا الخبراء إلى نشر نتائج التحقيق كاملة بما في ذلك نتائج تشريح جثة بنات.
مظاهرات في أعقاب وفاة بنات
في أعقاب وفاة السيد بنات، اندلعت مظاهرات في رام الله ومدن أخرى بالضفة الغربية طالب خلالها المحتجون بالعدالة والمساءلة. وقد قوبلت المظاهرات – على ما يبدو – بالقوة المفرطة وغير المبررة من قبل قوات الأمن الفلسطينية.
وقال الخبراء: “نحن قلقون للغاية من استخدام القوة المفرطة من قبل قوات الأمن الفلسطينية ضد المتظاهرين، بما في ذلك مزاعم بوقوع هجمات نفذها أشخاص لا يرتدون الزي الرسمي، واستهداف النساء المشاركات في المظاهرات.”

Rights experts call for an impartial and transparent investigation into the death of Palestinian activist Nizar Banat

Independent human rights experts* said that the death of Palestinian activist Nizar Banat shortly after his arrest by Palestinian security forces “has all the elements of a criminal act.” Experts called for an impartial and transparent investigation.
Nizar Banat died in the custody of Palestinian security forces on June 24 – an activist and dissident known for his comments on social media sites critical of figures in Palestinian political life – and initial reports indicated that he was severely beaten with steel batons during his arrest at his home.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the experts said: “His death must be investigated in a truly impartial and transparent manner, and in a manner that complies with the Minnesota Protocol on the Investigation of Possible Unlawful Deaths. If the investigation establishes that his death was a murder, those responsible must be fully held accountable, regardless of who rank or command, and full compensation shall be given to the family of Mr. Banat.”
The experts called for the publication of the full results of the investigation, including the results of the autopsy of girls.
Demonstrations following the death of girls وفاة
In the wake of Mr. Banat’s death, demonstrations erupted in Ramallah and other cities in the West Bank, during which protesters demanded justice and accountability. The demonstrations were met with apparently excessive and unjustified force by the Palestinian security forces.
The experts said: “We are deeply concerned about the use of excessive force by Palestinian security forces against protesters, including allegations of attacks by people in no uniform, and targeting of women participating in demonstrations.”

Experts expressed serious concerns about a number of attacks by Palestinian security forces against critics of the Palestinian Authority.
