مفوضية حقوق الإنسان تدعو إسرائيل إلى الوقف الفوري لعمليات إخلاء المنازل في حي الشيخ جراح بالقدس الشرقية
دعت مفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان إسرائيل لأن توقف فورا جميع عمليات الإجلاء، بما في ذلك عمليات إجلاء العائلات في حي الشيخ جراح في القدس الشرقية.
وفي مؤتمر صحفي من جنيف، قال المتحدث باسم مفوضية حقوق الإنسان، روبرت كولفيل، إن أوامر عمليات الإجلاء، إذا صدرت وتم تنفيذها، ستنتهك التزامات إسرائيل بموجب القانون الدولي.
وتواجه ثماني أسر فلسطينية لاجئة تعيش في حي الشيخ جراح في القدس الشرقية خطر الإجلاء القسري بسبب طعن قانوني قدمته جمعية “نحالات شمعون” الاستيطانية. وبالنسبة لأربع من تلك الأسر، فالخطر وشيك.
ودعت المفوضية إسرائيل إلى الوقف الفوري لجميع عمليات الإجلاء، ومراجعة القانونين، لضمان توافقهما مع التزاماتها بموجب القانون الإنساني الدولي والقانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان.

The Commission for Human Rights calls on Israel to immediately halt house evictions in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has called on Israel to immediately halt all evacuations, including those for families, in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
At a press conference from Geneva, the spokesman for the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Robert Colville, said that the evacuation orders, if issued and executed, would violate Israel’s obligations under international law.
Eight Palestinian refugee families living in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem are facing the threat of forced eviction due to a legal challenge filed by the “Nahalat Shimon” settlement association. For four of those families, the danger is imminent.
The Commission called on Israel to immediately halt all evacuations, and to review the two laws, to ensure that they are consistent with its obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
