اليونيسف تقدم مساعدات منقذة للحياة لقطاع غزة مع استمرار تزايد الاحتياجات الإنسانية
القدس الشرقية / قطاع غزة، 21 مايو 2021 – سلمت اليونيسف اليوم 18 حاوية من المساعدات الإنسانية الحيوية المنقذة للحياة إلى قطاع غزة. دخلت هذه المساعدات إلى قطاع غزة عبر معبر كرم أبو سالم لدعم الأطفال والأسر بسبب التصعيد الأخير.
قامت اليونيسف بتنظيم قافلة نيابة عن وكالات إنسانية أخرى وبدعم من التجمع اللوجستي، وسلمت 12 حاوية من الإمدادات الطبية، شملت على:
• حاوية واحدة من الإسعافات الأولية.
• حاويتان تحتويان على 2,000 كيس دم ثلاثي ومحلول ملحي وجلوكوز.
• حاوية واحدة من طفايات الحريق.
• حاويتان من المضادات الحيوية وأدوية أخرى لمكافحة العدوى.
• 10,000 جرعة من لقاح كوفيد-19 سينوفارم
استجابت اليونيسف منذ اليوم الأول للتصعيد. وزعت اليونيسف مع شركائها مواد صيانة لمحطة تحلية مياه البحر في جنوب غزة، بما في ذلك الوقود لمدة ثلاثة أيام لدعم المولدات ومواد معالجة المياه. وقدمت اليونيسف الإمدادات الطبية، بما في ذلك المحلول الملحي والجلوكوز والمضادات الحيوية وأملاح معالجة الجفاف عن طريق الفم والمواد الاستهلاكية لتغطية احتياجات 72,000 شخص. ستدعم هذه الإمدادات استمرارية خدمات صحة الأم والأطفال حديثو الولادة والأطفال وعلاج الجرحى من جراء أعمال العنف.
“نحن ممتنون للغاية لأن اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في قطاع غزة دخل حيز التنفيذ في الساعة 2 صباحًا من هذا الصباح ، لأن الخسائر البشرية هناك كانت هائلة”. قالت لوتشيا إلمي، الممثلة الخاصة لليونيسف في دولة فلسطين.

UNICEF provides life-saving assistance to the Gaza Strip as humanitarian needs continue to increase
East Jerusalem / Gaza Strip, May 21, 2021 – UNICEF today delivered 18 containers of vital life-saving humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This aid entered the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing to support children and families due to the recent escalation.
UNICEF organized a convoy on behalf of other humanitarian agencies and with the support of the Logistic Group, and delivered 12 containers of medical supplies, including:
• One container of first aid.
• Two containers containing 2,000 triple blood bags, saline and glucose.
• One container of fire extinguishers.
• Two containers of antibiotics and other medicine to fight infection.
• 10,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine Sinopharma
UNICEF responded from the first day of the escalation. UNICEF and its partners distributed maintenance materials for the seawater desalination plant in southern Gaza, including fuel for three days to support generators and water treatment materials. UNICEF provided medical supplies, including saline, glucose, antibiotics, oral rehydration salts and consumables, to cover the needs of 72,000 people. These supplies will support the continuity of maternal, newborn and child health services and the treatment of people wounded by the violence.
“We are very grateful that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip went into effect at 2 am this morning, because the casualties there were enormous.” UNICEF Special Representative for the State of Palestine, Lucia Elmi, said.
“This ceasefire will allow families to receive a much-needed respite, and will also allow the delivery of essential humanitarian aid and personnel into the Gaza Strip.”
