دعوة إلى دعم النداء الإنساني بسورياوتمديد تفويض العمليات الإنسانية عبر الحدود..

دعا أمين عام الأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش، في جلسة مجلس الأمن حول الوضع الإنساني في سوريا التي عقدت عصر اليوم الأربعاء، إلى تقديم الدعم لأحدث نداء إنساني يسعى إلى الحصول على 4.2 مليار دولار لتخفيف محنة سكان البلاد. كما طلب 5.8 مليار دولار أخرى لدعم اللاجئين السوريين في المنطقة.
الأمين العام الذي كان يتحدث عبر تقنية الفيديو من بروكسل حيث يجري محادثات مع المفوضية الأوروبية، أكد أيضا لأعضاء المجلس على أهمية الحفاظ على الوصول إلى المتضررين وتوسيعه، بما في ذلك العمليات عبر الحدود وعبر الخطو
رفع مستوى المساعدة وبناء القدرة على الصمود
وبينما يستمر وقف إطلاق النار إلى حد كبير، إلا أن هناك انتهاكات مستمرة، بما في ذلك الهجوم المروع على مستشفى الشفاء في وقت سابق من هذا الشهر، بحسب الأمين العام الذي قال إن “استراتيجيات التكيف لدى الشعب السوري وصلت إلى حدها المطلق.”
وتعتبر عملية الأمم المتحدة الإنسانية في سوريا اليوم الأكبر في العالم.
وقد سعى نداء الأمم المتحدة الأخير الذي يهدف إلى مساعدة المتضررين في سوريا إلى الحصول على 4.2 مليار دولار لتخفيف محنة البلاد. كما يطلب 5.8 مليار دولار أخرى لدعم اللاجئين في المنطقة.
اعتبارا من اليوم، حصل النداء على 636 مليون دولار للاستجابة السورية، و600 مليون دولار فقط للاستجابة الإقليمية. “هذا جزء يسير مما هو مطلوب”، كما قال السيد غوتيريش مناشدا المانحين “زيادة المساعدة المنقذة للحياة والمساعدة في بناء القدرة على الصمود لمواجهة هذه التحديات الهائلة….

At the Security Council’s session on the humanitarian situation in Syria, which took place this afternoon, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for support for the latest humanitarian appeal seeking $4.2 billion to ease the plight of the country’s population. He also requested another $5.8 billion to support Syrian refugees in the region.
The Secretary-General, speaking via videoconference from Brussels, where he is holding talks with the European Commission, also emphasized to Council members the importance of maintaining and expanding access to those affected, including across borders and cross-border operations.
Raising the level of assistance and building resilience
While the ceasefire largely holds, there are ongoing violations, including the horrific attack on Shifa Hospital earlier this month, according to the Secretary-General who said that “the Syrian people’s coping strategies have reached their absolute limit.”
Today, the United Nations humanitarian operation in Syria is considered the largest in the world.
The latest UN appeal aimed at helping those affected in Syria sought $4.2 billion to ease the country’s plight. It is also requesting another $5.8 billion to support refugees in the region.
As of today, the appeal has received $636 million for the Syrian response, and $600 million just for the regional response. “This is only a fraction of what is needed,” Mr. Guterres said, pleading with donors to “surge life-saving assistance and help build resilience to meet these daunting challenges….
